Networking superpower's hit Nashville!

Networking superpower's hit Nashville!

Well, it's finally here! The day of networking in Nashville has arrived! I am sure a lot of people have wondered why I decided to take this one and why now? When I made my journey to Tennessee this summer, I was so excited to meet so many friends and colleagues that had also made the journey as well as I call them the “Real Deal” Tennessean’s! I thought I will get to actually just drive across town to meet with the Hanwha Team, or Cracker Barrell, or even Raising Cane’s! I started to realize how many amazing people lived here and the connections I could make just by reaching out!

What did become evident fairly quickly was the fact that a lot of them did not know each other? How does that happen? I was for sure surprised at that, and quickly my connector superpowers kicked into gear, and I was like okay, we need to grab coffee with so and so, or we need to plan a dinner with all of us, etc.…. I soon though realized that there was only so many coffees and dinners to connect all the amazing people here in Nashville I wanted to connect. Therefore, a light went on in my Angie brain, where I reached out to a wonderful friend and colleague, Amelia Kennedy, who is the “Real Deal” Nashvillian, and asked would she be interested if to create a local networking group with me? Without hesitation, because she is amazing, she said YES! and that is where the idea began for the Security Titan’s. I then prayed, and formed some ideas to begin asking people if they wanted to help us launch a local networking group. People that stepped up to the plate right away March Networks, Rodney Gray, we love us some Rodney, and Jason Alestra, at VICON, who has been a tireless promoter, and the amazing Chad McIntosh and Chrisy Bauswell at LPRC, your support was the foundation. You see you can have an idea, but you will need the support to make it a reality, and in our industry, that is what is so amazing, is the level of support you can have, once you just ask, with the mission in mind.

So, I write this today, as I prepare my nametags, raffles, and my daytime job. My reason is to encourage all of you to make your ideas a reality. If you think there is value for others, and will help our friends and industry be better, just do it! Take the leap, make the idea happen, and you will find the amazing people that will surround you to support you. It could be a local 5K for a charity you want to do? It could be a biking club, a golf tournament that supports Mission 500, lots of different things can be done, but they need the person, with the idea, to say, let’s do it! So today, find your why and join the rest of us crazy people by taking that idea and putting it into action. We all become better when we live out our truth and our purpose. And if you're in Nashville tonight! Come join us at Barstool and make a connection that yesterday you didn’t have! Off we go!

Your enthusiasm has enticed me, so as a Nashville neighbor, I'm heading into "the city" to make connections I definitely didn't have yesterday. Thanks for creating this space and I'll see "all y'all" soon.

Wish i was staying in town for it.
