Networking - the Success Formula!

Back in the day, one of the most common methods to build new business was through cold calling, a method of meeting new prospects that required skill and a perseverance that most people preferred not to engage in.

Today of course CC is less practical, with voicemail and people being tougher to reach by phone in general. Enter networking, a way to meet new contacts that anyone can implement and without the associated pain of picking up the receiver and calling strangers to pitch them. And how effective is this as a way to build new business? I draw your attention to the founder of the BNI network Ivan Misner Ph.D. who has quantified the power of networking based on the sheer numbers of connections someone makes. He stated, "there is a dramatic correlation between the size of a quality group and the number of referrals that are generated by that group, with this multiple of connections getting even more interesting as it gets larger."
