Networking shouldn't feel exhausting!

Networking shouldn't feel exhausting!

Let’s talk about one of the biggest obstacles holding back South Asian women in corporate leadership: Networking with Senior Leaders.

I’ve worked with hundreds of women at this point, and there’s one strategy that gets overlooked time and time again—building authentic relationships with the leaders in your company.

And the reality is, it’s one of the most important.

In the past few years, I’ve helped many brilliant women unlock their potential and get noticed by those who matter most in their organization. And this shift has helped them land promotions, get the recognition they’ve deserved for years, and in some cases, increase their salaries by $20K, $50K, or even $100K.

Here’s what I’ve learned: There are three kinds of communication that will transform the way you network with senior leaders.

#??: ???????????????????? ????????????????

Most corporate cultures have trained us to be hyper-critical of ourselves.

We’ve been conditioned to think that the reason we’re not advancing in our careers is because of something we are doing wrong. Maybe you’re thinking, "I’m not aggressive enough," or "I should have spoken up more in that meeting."

But the truth is, the system isn’t designed to elevate women like us. We’ve been misled into believing that hard work alone will get us noticed. It’s simply not true.

Instead of feeling defeated by this, what if you could acknowledge that you’ve been playing the wrong game? Senior leaders aren’t looking for more hard workers—they’re looking for strategic thinkers and relationship builders.

The next time you’re in a meeting, use empathetic language to connect with the senior leaders around you. Ask questions that show you understand their concerns, their vision, and how you can support it. It’s not about proving yourself—it’s about creating a space where you are seen as an ally and a leader.

Networking doesn’t have to feel exhausting.

In fact, if the idea of “networking” makes you feel like you’re about to run a marathon, you’re thinking about it all wrong.

Women, especially South Asian women, have been taught to hustle and prove ourselves at every turn. But the truth is, hustling often leads to burnout, not success.

What if, instead of pushing and hustling, you could attract opportunities?

Imagine what it would feel like to create relationships that feel natural, to manifest connections with leaders who see your brilliance without you having to fight for it.

Networking with senior leaders isn’t about spending hours at a time hustling to get noticed. It’s about calling in the right people, at the right time, and aligning your energy with theirs.

#??: ???????? ????????????????

Here’s something I’ve learned from working with women like you: senior leaders are just people. And people want to connect with others who make them feel comfortable and understood.

I’ve worked with women who used to feel stiff and formal in every conversation with their bosses. They’d freeze up, overthink every word, and second-guess themselves constantly. But once they started using soft, flowy language, everything changed.

Instead of approaching conversations with rigid formality, they began speaking in a more relaxed, conversational tone.

Phrases like “I’d love to get your thoughts on this” or “I’ve been thinking about this idea, and I’d like to explore it with you” create an environment where leaders are more likely to engage with you. It feels like an invitation, not an interrogation.

And guess what? That kind of language leads to real, meaningful connections.

So, here’s what I want you to take away:

  • You don’t need to hustle to get noticed.
  • You don’t need to push yourself beyond exhaustion to build relationships with senior leaders.
  • And you don’t need to change who you are to succeed.

What you need is to learn how to use the right kind of communication.

On September 16th at 12 PM EST, I’m hosting a FREE Masterclass on Networking with Senior Leaders, where I’ll walk you through the exact strategies I’ve used to help women like you build authentic relationships with the leaders who can change their careers.
