In a recent survey around Business networking where three areas were examined which were:- Choosing the right network, the success of that network and the relationships in that network some interesting results popped up. 70% felt they had chosen the correct network yet only 47% see the network as successful for them and even less, only 43% were building relationships in a meaningful way.

Hi Kim, Thanks for finding someone who finds Networking rathe intriguing and somewhat confusing. My original experiment was to connect to as many people as possible, from different professionals. This, however was the wrong starting point. My view now is to target people who can become partners and friends as well. These people will be found through connecting with people who are closely related to your profession or trade and even interests or hobbies. This is how I have decided to move forward with my connections. Those who are inactive in any shape or form, will be relegated to TIER TWO. So the first steps for me are: 1. Is there relevance to what I do? 2. Will something, by way of clinching a tangible business relationship, direct or indirectly? This System may not work all the time. As a Mediator involved in helping businesses in the shops and offices Cleaning services, for example, my services will also apply to HR Groups and Others. Like GP's in Medicine, we cover all industries. However in such situations, one has to be choosey in those who knocks at your door!
