We need networking components to create and maintain a network of devices that can share data and resources with each other.
A network can be as simple as two computers connected by a cable, or as complex as the internet that connects billions of devices across the world.
Networking components enable us to:

-Collaborate and communicate with others
-Secure and protect our data and devices
-Scale and expand our network as needed

3. The Trio of Networking Essentials
Imagine setting up a network as if you were organizing a party. To make it successful, you need a few essential components:
1. Devices:
Just like guests at a party, devices are the participants in a network.
This includes computers, smartphones, printers, and more.
Each device is assigned a unique address (like an invitation) to ensure proper communication.
Example: If you want to share pictures from your phone to your friend's computer, both devices need to be part of the same network.
2. Medium:
The medium is the channel through which data travels.
In our party analogy, this is the physical space where guests move and interact.
In networking, the medium could be wired (like Ethernet cables) or wireless (like Wi-Fi).
Example: If you're at a party and want to share a message with a friend across the room, you can either walk over to them (wired) or shout (wireless) – the medium determines how you transmit your message.
3. Protocol:
Protocols are the rules that govern how data is transmitted and received.
They ensure that devices in the network understand each other's language and can work together harmoniously.
Example: Think of protocols as the common etiquette at a party. Everyone agrees to follow certain rules – like not talking over each other – to maintain a smooth and organized gathering.
