Many networkers ask, “What should I put on my About Page? I have an About Page for Facebook, LinkedIn … and lots of places.”

Yes, depending on the platform, there are more advanced strategies. But for now, here is an easy one to get us started.

Why do people come to our About Page? Well, if we are in business, they come to see if we can help them. An easy statement to start our About Page is, “I show people how to.”

Some examples?

• “I show people how to get more customers for their business.”
• “I show people how to get an extra paycheck every month.”
• “I show people how to lose 10 pounds in 30 days.”
• “I show people how to make their skin look 10 years younger in only 30 days.”
• “I show people how to fire their boss and work out of their home.”

This is a good way to start. Can we get better? Certainly. But let’s at least do the minimum for now.

Say this to start interesting conversations?with prospects

“I finally decided I am better off being my own boss. What do you think?”

And now we have?an easy start to a conversation about?business.

Rapport builder phrases we can use

We can relax and get agreement from our prospects more easily by starting with phrases such as:

• “As many of us know …”
• “We always notice …”
• “Most people …”
• “Everybody says …”
• "If you are like most people ..."

A great question to start our morning?

?“Will I learn something new today, or will I stay where I am?”

Harsh.

I have a habit that activates this decision automatically.?

The first thing I do every day is …?read something new. I like books. I can discover in a few pages what took someone possibly?ten?years to learn.

For others, they may prefer to learn by audio. Personal choice. I read faster than I listen, so I like to save time?by reading.

Making this decision first thing every morning means over time, we grow.
