Frustration!

Distributor: "I am frustrated. I only sponsored one person in the last six weeks."

Sponsor: "How many presentations did you give?"

Distributor: "Just the one."

More first-sentence ideas?

  • “My children asked me yesterday, ‘If you hate your job so much, why don’t you get a different job?’”
  • “My new plan? Chat and drink coffee full-time. Like it?”
  • “I have my plan to become debt-free. What about you?”
  • “Everybody wants things to change, yet most people hate change. How do you feel about change?”
  • “Shouldn't our weekends be longer than our work week? That seems like a better way.”
  • “What do you think? Should we try to improve our lives?”

Big problems need solutions

Nobody wants a solution unless they have a problem they want to fix now.

Most prospects can live with small problems. Why? Because they don't want to put in effort or change. That seems too hard.

But a big problem? Yes, that will need a solution.

So allow our prospects to talk long and hard about their problem. Encourage them to talk even more about the consequences of keeping their problem. The longer they talk, the bigger the problem grows in their minds.

Need a couple of good questions to keep the conversation going?

  • "Do other people know how much you suffer?"
  • "Do you think this problem will go away on its own?"
  • "Anything else?"
  • "Are you okay with keeping this problem?"

Prospects love to talk. It won't take much nudging to make that happen.

Coffee conversation questions with coworkers

  • “You know, I would rather be sitting outside, enjoying the day, at a nice sidewalk coffee café … instead of drinking this cheap coffee and going back to my job in 5 minutes. What about you?”
  • “This morning, I decided I don’t want to work here for the rest of my life until I die. So, I better get a plan. What are your thoughts?”
  • “So what is the worst thing about your job here?”
  • “So wouldn’t it be a lot more convenient if we had this coffee at home, and worked out of our own homes?”
