Tell me something about yourself.

My self Asar Mohammad working as a Network Engineer with 2+ Years of experience in Switching, Routing, and FortiGate Firewall mostly working with Cisco devices, I did my graduation in Computer Application from Indra Gandhi National Open University and I also own a CCNA (R&S) which I did form CTTC KOLKATA MSME TOOL ROOM KOLKATA and also form Network Online Academy

Tell me about your roles and responsibilities

My Roles and responsibilities are the following:-

As I work on multiple projects where I need to first visit the client side and understand their existing network and try to find out the issues like EOL devices, redundancy issues in the network, Security parameters, devices not hardening properly, etc. If it is a new site need to collect the floor plans, Active and redundant data points, and type of solutions say wired or wireless, etc. Once we have all this information we need to prepare the HLD and LLD and take the review from the customers. Once gets finalized we need to place the order. After the Products reach the customer site we need to visit the site and do the configuration of the device from scratch following the LLD then perform the overall testing take the feedback from the customer and close the project.

Technical:-

Q1.What is the difference between STP and MSTP?

Ans: STP is an older technology that is used to avoid the L2 network loops whereas MSTP is the latest technology which works the same as RSTP but uses multiple instances to forward and block the traffic let say we have 4 VLANs (10, 20, 30, 40) in our network so for two VLANs (10, 20) the Forwards port will be Gi0/0 whereas form other two (30, 40) VLANs the Forwarding port will be Gi0/1 and this Gi0/1 will be an alternate port for that VLANs (10, 20) and Gi0/0 will the alternate port for (30, 40). and here by default MST0 is the instance will be used if no other instances are defined manually.

Q2. with reference to STP what do you mean by designated port?

Ans: All the ports of the Root bridge a designated ports and also for the non-root switches we can say that the shortest path to the root bridge is the designated ports.

Q3. what is the Virtual Mac in the HSRP protocol?

Ans: Virtual Mac is made up of three components first is the Vendor Code second is the HSRP Code and the third is the Group No: example of HSRPv1 Mac: 0000.0c07.acXX

Q4. What do you mean by Nat?

Ans: NAT stands for Network Address Translation it is used to translate Private IP into public IP we have three flavors of NAT i.e.; Static Nat (one-to-one mapping), Dynamic Nat (one-to-pool mapping), PAT (Port Address translation)

Q5. What is the default Port no of SSL VPN concerning FortiGate Firewall?

Ans: SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Port no: 443.

Q6. What is the ICMP message unreachable?

Ans: It simply means that there's no route available to reach the destination.

Q6. What is the configuration for stacking?

Ans: There's no specific configuration for stacking in the switches only we need to connect the stack cable as suggested by the switch OEM and we can set the priority value for Active/Standby and Member selection. if we need to provision a new switch in the network, we can just give the command for example:

switch(config)#switch 2 provision ws-c3750-48ts        

Q7. What do you mean by Hagging in IPsec VPN?

Ans: I need to learn this not aware of it.
