NETWORKING BLOG
As this incredibly interesting course on digital media marketing is approaching the end, therefore I would like?to have a?moment to reflect on what?I gained?from the Marketing Seminar series.
Throughout my childhood I have been accustomed to the convectional approach of education where we were taught the theoretical and technical aspects. However, this year during the seminars for the Digital Media Marketing Seminar Series, I have studied in a totally new and efficient approach.
We had the chance to hear from guest speakers each week who discussed their professional backgrounds, shared incredible advice on how to land the job of our dreams, and at the end of the seminars, we utilized these lessons to discuss actual business case studies. In my opinion, that is a fantastic technique to help us build our network with the speakers, practise for interviews, and be ready for the actual corporate world.
LEARNINGS FROM THE SEMINAR
I wanted to learn everything I could from the seminars, including the knowledge of various?industries, career paths or pathways to??present roles, daily responsibilities in various roles, and so much more. It was really a terrific technique to learn and grasp each topic throughout the lectures to participate in break-out rooms with peers to do a case study and get feedback from the lecturers. I've connected with a few of the speakers on LinkedIn so that I can connect with them and their industry. Additionally, I may go through?their postings, from which I will continually learn about?new marketing strategies.
MY FAVOURITE SPEAKERS
1.??????PAUL MICHEL - It was an honour to have Paul Michel, the Senior Account Manager of Harry Rosen, in our weekly seminar series. I was intrigued to learn more about him and Harry Rosen after reading about his spectacular foray into the field of digital marketing.
-?????????The most crucial lesson I've learned through his lecture is to always give your all to whatever it is you're doing that you genuinely enjoy.
-?????????Paul walked us through his step-by-step digital media journey, and I learned the value of planning from him. Without a question, a well-planned strategy can aid in your success.
-?????????I really like the activity he had us do where we had to identify ourselves and then work in groups to come up with a communications plan to help Harry Rosen's wedding business.
Through that activity, I also gained a lot of knowledge regarding the tasks and responsibilities of a project manager. It was a wonderful chance to learn.

My Insights:
Through this lecture I had gained practical awareness of the responsibilities and duties that had to be fulfilled using this enjoyable hobby as a performance manager. In the field of digital marketing, Paul's lecture motivated me to be a humble student, an attentive listener, and a positive thinker. Putting ourselves in the client's position can actually make our media planning more thoughtful and clearer. The most crucial piece of networking and job-search advice from Mr. Michel was that, even while you should focus on digital marketing, you should also investigate other facets of marketing as this is just one channel. I think the knowledge I've acquired will help me put what I've discovered to use in the real world.

2.??????AMANDA LEE - Last month, we had the pleasure of getting to know Amanda Lee, The Aber Group's Account Director, and learn?from her. She spoke about her career advancement at The Aber Group, from an?intern to account director. Amanda provided us with some great tips on how to keep up with the quickly evolving area of digital marketing. Her top three recommendations were as follows:
1. Take full advantage of social media channels
2. Take part in conferences, webinars, and classes (virtual conferences, free webinars, LinkedIn Learning courses)
?3. Stay up to date on all social media platforms and trending subjects by subscribing to newsletters. For those wishing to apply for internships or jobs, she talked about how these concepts are important, in addition to the technical skills you pick up along the way.
My Insights:
She claimed that because proofreading is seen as a sign of someone who pays attention to detail, it will guarantee that your application will be given more consideration. - It's essential to thoroughly investigate a firm before. Before applying for a job, it is essential to thoroughly research the organisation and to include this information in the application. Don't forget to address the hiring manager properly in the application. Timeliness and punctuality are highly regarded traits. It's crucial to reply as soon as you get a response from a potential employer. It's important to stay on top of current business trends. Make sure to obtain the certificates related to the respective field and include them on your CV to demonstrate that you make the necessary efforts to keep current.
Here are some networking strategies that have benefited me:
-?????????Engage in active listening and questioning.
-?????????Be eager to learn new things at all times.
-?????????Always be prepared to accept change and overcome obstacles.
-?????????Always maintain a positive outlook. Although it isn't given enough credit, this statement is the most important.
-?????????Never be scared of failing.
Through these lectures I got to network not only with the guest speakers but had a wonderful chance of getting to know my own classmates during the breakout sessions. It was a wonderful time, exchanging the knowledge and life experiences and I will cherish the learnings and insights I have gained throughout. Thank you professor for giving us the best possible exposure during the course. Glad to be a part of your sessions
