Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings passes co-CEO baton; ‘CNN This Morning’ EP shifts to late night; and more
After 25 years running Netflix, the streaming giant’s co-founder, Reed Hastings, is stepping down as Co-CEO to become executive chairman.
Greg Peters, who had been COO and head of product, is being elevated to Co-CEO. He shares that title with Ted Sarandos, a 22-year company veteran who was named to that post in 2020.
Television chief Bela Bajarian and film head Scott Stuber also got bumps, with Bajarian now Chief Content Officer and Stuber installed as Chairman of Netflix Film.
The moves were announced as the company reported better-than-expected subscriber growth in the fourth quarter, with almost 7.7 million new customers added around the world.?

‘CNN This Morning’ Executive Producer Shifts To Late Night?
Eric Hall, the executive producer of?CNN This Morning, is departing the show and moving to the 11 p.m. hour of?CNN Tonight?hosted by Laura Coates. Hall’s exit comes less than three months after the revamped morning show’s debut. A priority of CNN chief Chris Licht (who built successful morning shows at MSNBC and CBS),?CNN This Morning?launched in November with hosts Don Lemon, Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow.
