Netcool: Basic "How To" Videos

At Envisage we found that a few of our new customers were asking the same kind of End User questions, so we decided to create some How To videos that they can refer to again if they forget or if a new person joins the team.

We have started with 3 short videos and will be increasing these over time.

The first video shows how to access and log into DASH. DASH (Dashboard Application Services Hub) is the dashboarding software under which the Netcool components run.

The second video deals with representing the severity of an event by colour in the Netcool Event Viewer. By default the each event only shows an icon representing the severity, but some users prefer each event to be colour-coded by severity. The short video shows how this colouring can be enabled. It also shows how columns can be removed from view. At the end of the video the Event Viewer looks like the old Native Client, in terms of colours and visible fields.

In the third video we talk about the date format and setting the time zone, if users are not happy with the defaults. It shows users how to change the date format to their preference, as well as a relevant time zone. These settings can be set globally, but each individual user can change the settings to suit themselves. This is useful in customers who operate in various time zones.
