Net-Working

We were all warned during childhood “don’t talk to strangers!” 

Now that we're out in the world as adults, we're encouraged to do the opposite..."go talk to strangers.” 

That is in fact what networking is all about, connecting with total strangers. 

Now with that being said, true networking is not just about connecting, it's about building a deeper relationship with those we meet. It's about doing something for others, not just ourselves. 

When we become selfless, and help others get what they want, we will have everything we want.

I am reminded of the Arab proverb “dig your well before you are thirsty.” This is what networking is all about, it's about creating relationships that we can count on in the future.
