Nestlé Needs YOUth - this is my journey!

You might have noticed that most of professional journey stories begin with “long story short” expressions, but for mine it is necessary to dig a little bit deeper in the past.

When I was just a kid in love with sport, cartoons, snacks and chocolate, I already had a clear vision of my career. Working in a chocolate factory, being surrounded by abundance of different sweets, was a dream that came true earlier than I could even imagine.

My Nestle journey began in January 2016, when I started as a Trainee in DSP department, Nestle Adriatic. At that time, I was a final – year student in course of Operational management at Faculty of organisational sciences, devoted to my final exams and seeking for my first professional experience. Four years have almost past, and it has been a brilliant journey during which I have had an opportunity to gain diversity of skills and knowledge.

I currently work in Trade Marketing department, being in charge of NESCAFé category, more specifically NESCAFé 3in1, NESCAFé Dolce Gusto, NESCAFé Cappuccino. Being in a position to lead the strongest instant coffee brand results with high level of responsibility and great variety of tasks and challenges on a day-to-day basis.

My interest for Trade Marketing significantly increased after I had finished my trainee program in DSP and got promoted to a Demand & Supply planner for my favourite category – Confectionery. This function gave me possibility to really understand specifics of Adriatic market and become familiar with key customers, trends, but also nature of Trade Marketing and Sales job. Led by my newly understood career aspirations, in May 2018 I became a part of Trade Marketing team, firstly working on Confectionery & Dairy category.

The 3 most important things for me about working for Nestlé

Culture of people. My journey in Nestle gave me possibility to work with numerous people of different ages, departments, nationalities. All this time I have been filled up with great energy of people and their will to continuously improve, learn and grow both personally, as well as professionally. Currently, I am a part of fantastic team with great passion, commitment and hunger to furtherly develop business, but us as a team, too.

The endless possibilities. In Nestle we are all highly encouraged to talk about where we see ourselves in future and take all needed steps to reach our desired positions and professional careers. Global scale of Nestle, as the world’s largest food and beverage company, is certainly one of the things that has attracted me the most. Weekly-based open dialogues with my manager are giving me confidence that I can always express my ambition and have strong support from all relevant sides on my way to achieving it.

Constant learning. Every day when I come back from work I am confident that my knowledge and experience are enriched and diversified. Probably, that feeling is the most important benefit which Nestle provides to young, talented people. Formal and informal education, trainings, conferences on local, but also regional, global level are giving us endless opportunities for professional development and shaping our career paths.
