Kathmandu

The largest city and the capital of Nepal. The city is also named as “city of temples” as it is surrounded by famous temples like Pashupatinath temple. One can experience different cultures and traditions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Newar, etc in Kathmandu valley. The city is the home of several world heritage sites like Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath. Kathmandu is also the home of numerous famous museums in Nepal. Various monasteries are present inside and along the Kathmandu valley to provide Buddha teachings. A lot of tourists spend time in these monasteries to learn about Buddhism.


Pokhara

The second-largest city in terms of population and area, located 195 km in the west of Kathmandu city. Pokhara is well known for its trekking and adventurous tours. It provides a wide range of options for tourists who love to do trekking. Some of the major trekking regions are the Annapurna region, Everest region, Langtang region, Manaslu region, Rara/Jumla region, and Kanchanjunga/ Makalu region. Three (Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu) out of the ten highest mountains in the world are seen from here. The Phewa lake in Pokhara region is famous for its boating and is surrounded by numerous restaurants, which provide options for chilling for tourists. Tal Barahi Temple, Bindhyabasini temple, and Radha Krishna Temple are some of the major attractions of the place.


Chitwan National Park

One of the most beautiful places to visit in Nepal. The park is spread in acres and is the home of more than 500 species of animals and birds. It is the first national park of Nepal. More than seventy percent of the parking area is covered with Sal trees. More than 20 species of snakes like King cobra, Rock python, and starred tortoise, monitor lizards can be seen inside the park. The park is the home of “king of the Jungle” is the Bengal Tiger. Apart from this one-horned rhinoceros and sloth bears, giant elephants and leopards attract the tourists to experience the beauty of the park and spend some time between natural habitats. The park is attached to two villages Sauraha in the east and Meghauli Village in the west which are the main entrance gates to enter the park. One can experience different safaris inside the park and the best time to enjoy these Safaris is either morning or evening. Accommodation and residential facilities are available inside the park.


Patan

Different people say different names of this city. Some called it a “ handicraft city” and some called it a “ city of the temple” and “city of monasteries”. It is the third-largest city in Nepal after Kathmandu and Pokhara. The city is well known for its festival and feast, fine ancient art, making of metallic and stone carving statues. The city was designed in the shape of the Buddhist Dharma-Chakra (Wheel of Righteousness). It is surrounded by Asoka Stupas, one at each end of the city and one stupa is present in the middle of the city. More than 1,200 Buddhist monuments of various shapes and sizes are scattered in and around the city. Patan Durbar Square is one of the major attractions of the city.
