NEOM Now Edition 15: Reflecting on Davos 2025

NEOM took part in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025 in Davos.

We showcased our ambitious vision for the future to visitors from all corners of the globe. From our dedicated installation - NEOM House - we took them on a journey of sustainability, economic growth, and cutting-edge innovation across all of our projects.

NEOM leaders also shared their expertise on a range of specialist subjects, bringing important updates, insights and perspectives to an international audience.

NEOM will be powered by 100% renewable energy, primarily through solar and wind. This commitment is demonstrated in the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project, which is the largest green hydrogen project in the world.?

The goal is to create a region that not only meets modern energy demands, but also sets a new standard for environmental sustainability. We shared this knowledge with the many visitors of NEOM House, and emphasised the importance of sustainable development within our vision.

We also highlighted our social responsibility programs benefiting local people, and pledge to protect 95% of NEOM in our Nature Reserve.

At NEOM House, we gave visitors an up close and personal look into our many diverse regions. We shone a light on three - Trojena, Oxagon, and THE LINE - with each embodying our vision for an innovative and sustainable future:

Trojena is part of NEOM’s regional plan, located 50km from the Gulf of Aqaba coast in the heart of our nature region. Elevations range from 1,500m to 2,600m and cover an area of nearly 60 square kilometers.

Ideally located for alpine and adventure sports, Trojena experiences sub-zero winter temperatures and has a year-round moderate climate that is cooler on average than the rest of the region.?

With its clear fresh air and panoramic views, Trojena will not only be a mesmerizing place to visit, but also the perfect place to live and work.

Oxagon will integrate industry 4.0 with circular economy principles to create a clean manufacturing ecosystem. The purpose-built city will embed robotics, automation, artificial intelligence and internet of things, unlike traditional hubs that retrofit outdated infrastructure.?

The city, which aims to be powered by renewable energy, will adopt these NEOM practices so that manufacturers can operate more efficiently, sustainably and profitably.?

Strategically located on the Red Sea coast near global shipping lanes, Oxagon is the ideal base for the factories of the future.

THE LINE will prioritize people's health and wellbeing over transportation and infrastructure, with no cars, roads or emissions unlike traditional cities.

Eventually accommodating 9 million people, THE LINE will be built on a footprint of just 34 square kilometers, meaning a reduced infrastructure footprint, creating never-before-seen efficiencies in city functions.?

Residents will also have access to all daily essentials within a five-minute walk, in addition to high-speed rail – with an end-to-end transit of 20 minutes.

In a compelling session, NEOM's Deputy CEO Rayan Fayez and Chief Development Officer Denis Hickey discussed how NEOM's vision is becoming a reality.

They shared key developments about the progress of NEOM, which is currently the largest construction and civil engineering project in the world.

Other key speakers from the NEOM leadership team included Vishal Wanchoo, Dr. Manar Al Moneef, and Majid Mufti; all of whom delivered insightful discussions that left attendees with a deeper understanding of NEOM and its vision.
