Nelson Mandela Day Drive: MpiloTech Community Initiatives

On July 18th each year, people around the world come together to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day. This day, marking the birthday of Nelson Mandela, serves as a tribute to the life and legacy of one of the world's most revered statesmen and human rights icons. More importantly, it is a global call to action, encouraging individuals to recognize their ability to positively impact those around them, just as Mandela did.?

In honor of Mandela Day, MpiloTech will be spearheading three significant initiatives aimed at uplifting the community and supporting those in need:?

iSchool Africa:?

iSchool Africa works to reduce inequalities and enhance opportunities for employment and economic growth, focusing on under-resourced schools, including both mainstream and special needs, from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to Grade 12.?

On July 18th, a number of MpiloTech employees will volunteer with iSchool Africa's "Coding Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom" initiative, offering mentorship, interactive learning, and community-building activities.?

Immaculata Shelter:?

The Sisters of Mercy Immaculata Hall Homeless Shelter, located in Rosebank, provides accommodation and two meals a day for displaced men and women in the area.?

MpiloTech is running a food & toiletry drive for the shelter to collect and donate non-perishable food items and toiletry packs (sanitary pads, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps, blankets and lotion).

The Johannesburg Care Foundation:?

This non-profit organization is dedicated to providing food, clothing, and toiletries to children and the elderly in need.?We will be collecting and donating non-perishable food items such as tinned food, maize meal, rice etc. as well as blankets and toiletries to support the Foundation's efforts.?

Donations for the Johannesburg Care Foundation (food parcels and blankets) and Immaculata Shelter (toiletry packs) can be dropped off at the WeWork – Rosebank Reception and addressed to Mpilo Technologies.
