NETFLIX JUMPS IN AFTER-HOURS ON STRONG EARNINGS:
Shares of Netflix popped more than 10 percent Monday after the markets closed. The streaming service reported strong earnings, including news that it added roughly 5.2 million subscribers in Q2, more than the 3.2 million the company forecast earlier. Netflix also projected a stronger-than-expected forecast for Q3, with the company saying it'll add 4.4 million more subscribers during the quarter. The stock has risen more than 64 percent over the last 12 months.
COULD AMAZON INTRODUCE A MEAL-KIT DELIVERY SERVICE?:
Amazon could be rolling out its own meal-kit delivery service. Amazon registered a trademark with the title "We do the prep, you be the chef." Shares of meal-kit delivery service Blue Apron plunged on the news.
GOOGLE EARNS LOW RANKS FOR JOB SATISFACTION, GENDER EQUALITY AMONG WOMEN:
Google is usually at the top of the list when it comes to where millennials want to work, but maybe not for women. Startup Fairygodboss asked women to weigh in on their job satisfaction and perceived gender equality in the office. According to the survey, Google is 14th, and only about half of the women who took the survey say women are treated fairly and equally to men.
