The Neighborhood Legacy- Imparting a strong educational foundation

A few people have the power to impact the society that alters the lives of generations to come. One such woman warrior came to Bangalore with a job offer in hand. She was highly qualified with a dual degree in Persian and Urdu, and she spoke fluent English during the late 50’s in India, a time when the value and benefits of education was accessible to only a few in the country. Mrs S H Murad was a young and determined woman with a passion to teach and impart knowledge to children which turned into a beacon of hope towards a bright future for many.

In this special article about?powerful women, we take you through the journey of Mrs S H Murad who has been proof that one woman can change the society around her. Her vision to use education as a powerful tool in influencing the lives of the children and their families started with what was known as a tutorial but later went on to being a sprouting school.??

“My mother was a very dedicated and hardworking person. We saw her work everyday without a single holiday, for over 33 years when she was in service. And even after retirement, her undying passion kept her working in the education industry for another 15 years.” – Rafath Mirza

Mr and Mrs Murad have two intelligent daughters who inherit the selfless nature their mother had.?

“My mother built this school for me, to provide affordable and quality education to children around this locality. Since then, we operated the school keeping in mind that money is not everything. It has been over 20 years and even today, we continue to carry forward everything our mother believed in.”?

Tinna’s Tiny Tots (now known as Tinna’s Primary School) started as a small day care and was built in a green patch of land with a serene atmosphere where children loved to study. Slowly, we grew from 12 children to 200 and until today, we have retained the essence of this campus, it is home to decades old tall trees.??

“I grew up witnessing our mother’s selfless nature. She would go to work, come back and take tuition for free for the children. Sometimes, she would also sponsor tuition fees for children whose parents could not afford it.”?

Alumni of Tinna’s Primary School, under the guidance of Mrs. Murad are successful professionals in their respective fields today and the legacy of Mr. and Mrs. Murad continues to inspire many. Their daughters have taken up the mantle of providing quality education while continuing to uphold the values and principles their parents stood for.?

Ensis and Tinna’s Primary School have collaborated to ensure the children from this neighborhood receive global standard education and an inclusive environment that supports and provides a strong academic foundation.
