Negotiating Procurement Prices
As an electronics supplier, I often deal with procurement. I share some of my opinions from the perspective of a supplier.
Understand your suppliers' costs:?Before you step onto the negotiating table, know their numbers as well as they do. Corresponding market research is key. This knowledge can give you leverage. Information gaps are very important in price negotiations. For the spot supply of electronic components, some suppliers get the goods from factory inventory, but sell them to you at a price lower than some market prices, but the supplier still makes a lot of money. So, be sure to understand where this source comes from, maybe, this will save you a lot of money.
Highlight Your Value: Remind them why they need you. Big orders? Consistent business? Brand alignment? Make it clear how your partnership benefits them too.
Ask for what you want:?Be specific about your goals. Whether it's a discount, better terms or a quality guarantee, clarity helps seal a deal faster. Communication is an art, and effective communication can often save you a lot of time and cost, which can allow you to obtain more other information.Keep Communication Open: Stay respectful and open-minded. Good relationships are built on trust and understanding. Remember, you're not just closing a deal; you're nurturing a connection.

Be Ready to Walk Away: Sometimes the best deals come when you buy from him when you're ready to give up. Knowing your departure point allows you to make a fair but firm decision. Negotiation is not about winning at all costs; It’s about building sustainable partnerships. Often at this time, the supplier will work hard to apply for the price you want in order to complete the order.
