Is Negativity really like Rust?

I have a sense that some people take these types of quotes to the extreme without considering the full effect. So I ask - is negativity really like a rust to you? At times we're going to go through a fire and we may even have hints of negativity in our thoughts, speech etc. It's not the end of the world - it happens to everyone. Yet - there is so much truth in this quote at the same time. Let me pull out one aspect of negativity and see what you think.

I consistently look around me and I deliberately surround myself with negative people. As a Professional Coach I get to hear heavy stories from my clients and I get to lead my clients through a process of breaking free. I can do this because I put my faith above and I speak abundantly about myself and because of the empowering people around me. Some people ask me 'well if you just surround yourself with positive people what about picking people up and helping others that are discouraged or negative?' My response is that I help heaps of people like this especially through coaching and through interactions.

I am on a mission to be an epic encourager wherever I go. I fill my cup up with the best source and it gives me the longevity to be able to give back more and more to those in need (and often those in need aren't the negative ones - that's another topic.) So my challenge to you on this large topic is to consider who the people are that you most hang around with. Are they uplifting, encouraging, inspiring, optimistic? Are you uplifting, encouraging, inspiring and optimist towards others? What is your source? How can you fill yourself up so that you can help people that are negative?
