The positive attitude of employees always improves workplace hygiene and is perceived as a competitive advantage in the current era of competition rivalry. ?Contemporary research proves that employees with high negativity are less satisfied with their job and it in turn influences their performance and organizational profitability.
?? Behaviour at the workplace is one of the most important factors that distinguishes one employee from another. Why this negativity surges with every passing year? How could the line manager preempt it? What measures could prevent the employee from complete burnout? The current article will through light on the pathways through which positive and negative behavior at the workplace can be predicted.

The positive path leading to positive behaviour (i.e., task performance, organizational citizenship behaviour [OCB]) is shaped by positive perceptions (i.e., perceived organizational justice, perceived organizational support, perceived organizational identity) and positive attitudes (i.e., organizational commitment, work engagement), while the negative path leading to negative behaviour (i.e., counterproductive work behaviour [CWB], turnover intentions) is shaped by negative perceptions (i.e., perceived organizational politics, perceived abusive supervision, perceived overqualification) and negative attitudes (i.e., job stress, job burnout).

?? Negativity is a common problem that can affect the performance, morale, and culture of any organization. Negativity among employees can manifest in various ways, such as complaining, criticizing, blaming, gossiping, or resisting change. It can also spread quickly from one employee to another, creating a toxic work environment that hinders productivity, innovation, and collaboration.
But what causes employees to develop negativity in the workplace? Contemporary literature review reveals that several factors can contribute to employee negativity, such as large workload, poor management, anxiety about the future, lack of recognition and rewards, conflict and misunderstanding and personal issues:
?? Negativity can have serious consequences for both employees and organizations, such as reduced performance, lower quality, higher turnover, lower customer satisfaction, and damaged reputation. Therefore, it is important to address and overcome negativity at workplace, before it becomes a chronic and pervasive issue. It also reduces stress, anxiety, and fear. oxytocin is released in response to low-intensity stimulation of the skin, e.g., in response to touch, stroking, warm temperature, etc. so, offering warmth in behaviour for the sub-ordinate can serve to reduce negativity via the production of oxytocin.
?On the other hand, endorphins are released by the body when it feels pain or stress. They're released during pleasurable activities such as exercise, massage, eating and physical interaction. Endorphins help relieve pain, reduce stress and improve your sense of well-being.
?? These are just two of the many examples of how hormones shape our behaviour. By understanding the mechanisms and functions of hormones, we can effectively utilize the behaviours that increase the secretion of Mood-eating hormones that will serve to alleviate negativity at the workplace.

Therefore, it is important to address and overcome negativity in the workplace, by implementing the tips and strategies mentioned above.
