Needed Company
And in the fog, surrounding near forest
Something odd did creep up, out and about
A fictitious being, thought to be empty
A ghost known, for wandering in doubt.
Slowly her form did enlighten
She smiled, her skin more did tighten
She could feel... that I was near, well frightened
To see her stop still, just standing there.
She made as if to say... something
But from of her toothless mouth, out came nothing
Perhaps loving, or maybe cussing
She seemed not, to really care.
Instead, she started laughing and dancing
Stopped. blew a kiss my way, how romancing
Then quickly, off she went prancing
Back into the forest, I assume to her lair.
Since then, there are questions I ponder
Did she know me … as an old dancing partner
I looked at my bony toes, in wonder...
If I too, could have danced with her, right then and there.
Oh No, I know my bones are too very brittle
Far away… from fit as a Fiddle
I just can’t solve this crazy riddle
Who she was, when, what, how, or where.
So, I leave it all to you, dear reader
Perhaps you can write within this same meter
The correct answer, to this here pleader
Who only looks to see, the whole truth laid bare.
Together, let’s find time to waste time
And laugh at your answer, if found... welcomed, sublime
If not, I will still consider it all fine
Like fine wine, to release more breath-fog, as we dare.
For otherwise, here, it is too lonely walking
To myself, to only be talking
Better with an accompanying ghost, coming out stalking
To make alive, breath living again, all this dead air.
