Here are some activities you can do in five minutes or less to help reduce stress and anxiety.
Taking a few minutes to practice deep breathing can help you feel more relaxed and content. Close your eyes, focus on your breath, and inhale for 6 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds. Repeat this cycle at least three times to experience the mood benefits. Additionally, listening to upbeat music and adding some dance moves can help increase good vibes. Going outside for even a short walk in the sun can also boost your mood as it increases serotonin production. Petting a dog or cat is another great way to boost your mood as it produces Oxytocin, the “cuddle hormone” that helps us connect with each other. Finally, aromatherapy is a great way to instantly lift your spirits - scents like orange, peppermint and rose are known to improve one’s mood or reduce stress.
