7 Steps to Triumphing Over Mediocrity

Are you tired of the same routine existence?? Do you want more out of life than what life seems to be handing you?? You can rise above mediocrity but you must first change your mindset.

To begin, you must have a keen desire for change in your life and a very solid WHY for why you want to make this change. You must know what you want, even if you don’t yet know how to get it.? Be definitive in your desire and your WHY.

This might sound harsh, but we only had a relatively short time to live this life! What would you do to make it extraordinary? What would you really want to see, experience and do if you knew you only had a year, month, or even a week to live??

The 7 Steps

The following are ways to picture clearly in your mind and achieve goals for a better life:

1. Make sure you are clear on your real goals, not just “I want a million dollars” but what that million dollars will bring you and how that makes you feel. Such as ‘it will bring the ability to travel and volunteer more, which will bring more joy and fulfillment’, or ‘it will bring my family financial freedom, which brings serenity and it means more family time, so more happiness’. Drill down deep into your real underlying WHY (hint: it is usually joy and happiness).
2. Concentrate your energy and thoughts about your desired WHY on the here and now, not on the past or future. Being in the present moment does not mean taking instant gratification now and forgetting about the future! It means focusing on what can be done immediately that will effectively move you toward your WHY.
3. Let go of any anxiety, disbelief and doubt. Expect, believe and feel that you already have your desired WHY. Clear your mind of any and all negative thoughts. Negativity leads to being stuck in mediocrity.? Stay focused in a positive way at all times on achieving your WHY.
4. Get charged up emotionally about your desire to achieve your WHY.? Don’t just visualize it; feel it.? The more you’re enthused, excited, and charged up about your achieving your WHY, the faster you’ll have it. Breathe in and feel having it, doesn’t that feel nice?
5. Daily, affirm to yourself and your WHY.? An “affirmation” is “a solemn and formal declaration.”? Believe that you will get what you affirm you want because of your solid conviction in your WHY. This can be a statement, such as “My business will make an impact on 100 clients' lives this year!” Or a question, like “Why am I so lucky to have the opportunity to change over 100 lives every year?”.
6. Believe in yourself.? A belief is a thought, which is a form of energy.? Your beliefs have a great influence on you (and others around you) and can work for or against you.? Recognize and get rid of limiting beliefs that don’t serve you.? Retain those beliefs that bring contentment and quality to your life. ?
7. Finally…..Stay focused on your WHY.? The more you visualize, feel, believe, and affirm your desired goals, the more real they will become, which helps to produce those desired goals at some point in the future.

Change is hard, which is why most people do not move past mediocrity to achieve greatness or the fulfillment and joy in life they desire.
