Need to import data

When you’re starting to work with a new bit of software, a new CRM system or invoicing programme – or even setting up an e-newsletter, chances are you’ll need to import data before you can get moving. 

And there’s nothing more frustrating than a legacy system stopping you moving forward – or a bit of technical wizardry unexpectedly taking up your afternoon. You just want to get moving! Worse still, just when you think you’ve cracked it, you realise that your new system isn’t working quite as you expected because some element of the import has gone wrong!

If you can’t work out the difference between a csv file and a spreadsheet, and if you’re really regretting deciding to move everything, don’t worry.

The skills needed to import data, or even whole databases, aren’t necessarily the kind of thing you’ll use every day. So don’t beat yourself up if you can’t immediately work out how to do it.
