Need a good read?
Need a good read?
The dawn of a new calendar year brought me a desire to think back of the year 2019. Every year, I think back of all the books, that I have read. That′s a lot. I then decided to make a list of the top ten books this year.
At first, the idea of choosing 10 books alarmed me. What should be on the list? I could think of many. Essentially, this is a list of books that have been special to me this year, the year 2019, - or I could say they have shaped me as a writer or person.
I grow up when book clubs were a thing. For me reading is still “the thing”. I believe that books open doors in our minds, allowing us to live a lifetime and travel the world without even leaving the comfort of our chairs. I prefer reading over many other things.
I like that, when I read a book, I get into someone else’s minds, see the world through the eyes of another person and visit places I could never go, whether it’s a small castle in England or the green fields of Green Gables.
