No need to choose between supporting a family and a path to higher education

The number of men who go to college for 2- or 4-year programs has been decreasing dramatically over the past several years, and the Covid-19 pandemic has only exacerbated the decline. According to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, declines in enrollment were more than seven times as steep for men than women. For many young men, having to decide between investing in higher education and supporting the everyday needs of loved ones diverts them away from seeking a college degree.
At Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (BFIT), students don’t have to make a Solomon’s choice between higher education and supporting their family. Through accessible and affordable training, students can complete their education in a matter of months, not years, all while working a short-term job to pay the bills. Schools like BFIT play an essential role in the higher education ecosystem by offering online, night, and day programs that lead to viable career-driven opportunities as electrical engineers, HVAC technicians, practical electricians, or coders. For young men considering their options for their future long-term, BFIT provides the best of both worlds.
Higher education is often a financial burden for many, but a BFIT education doesn’t have to be. With creative financing tools, students can go to college now and pay for it once they secure a job, eliminating the worry of paying their way through or leaving with debt. Affordable, flexible programs leading to long-term career success is the key to helping young men see the opportunities higher education can afford them.

4 年If you choose not to go to BFIT, you are choosing the alternative of foregoing an additional $20,000 per year for the rest of your working life (average increase in annual pay for an 18 month Associste Degree over just a HS Diploma). This is your lost "opportunity cost". Truly a loss to many young men AND YOUNG WOMEN.
