Hi, I'm Tahirah, and I help busy women reclaim their time and power through the art of dressing well.?
(Every now and then I feel the need to reintroduce myself).?
Because constructing an intentional narrative is of the utmost importance when building a business, and simultaneously, a personal brand.
I preach this frequently and often. Why? Well, because it can be very easy to forget our appearance and aesthetic when it comes to branding. Your style; how you dress, is a narrative all unto itself. When we see people dressed well during our day we're naturally intrigued. We're visual creatures after all, and leaning into our style should be a priority when you're building a brand, influencing, or building your business.
It doesn't, however, excuse us from also, as you might have guessed, introducing ourselves.?
And like, the good ol' fashioned way.
The, "let me introduce myself," type of way. The, "hi, I'm so-and-so," type of way. The, "let's get to know each other," type of way.
It's time to be intentional.
And, with CLOTHESPETALS being nicknamed as "The House of Intentional Style," I challenge others to lean intentionally into curated messaging. Here's to showing up for myself.
Because this method works.
And that method is, very simply, introducing yourself.
Frequently.
Often.
With and without words.
I don't know if you're like me, but I find that it's easy to under-share.?
I mean, have you ever frozen when asked, a simply question about yourself? Why do the, "What do you do's?" and "Tell me about yourself's" trip us up? These answers should come easily, but don't. Too many of us fall into a habit of under-sharing. We don't talk about our achievements enough. We don't celebrate ourselves enough. And this cannot become a habit if you're a budding executive or entrepreneur. If you don't craft your very intentional narrative, someone else will do it for you. Instead of someone else's opinion becoming the prevailing narrative, it's time to reclaim our power in that regard.
A mentor once shared, "if you're not absolutely sick of how much you talk about yourself, you're not doing it enough."
I hope you have read far enough to receive that message alone.
Crafting a compelling narrative for your business and personal brand is essential, and it extends far beyond just the products or services you offer. The power of a compelling story is unimaginable; and we don't realize the ways in which we can story tell, weaving together threads of our expertise, our passion, and our personal journeys, all into a cohesive and engaging narrative that resonates with our audience.
One crucial aspect of that narrative is our style.
Another is our intro.
Another is simply the time it takes to simply introduce ourselves.
Your style story goes beyond the clothes you choose. It's intertwined with the story you share about yourself—the experiences, challenges, and triumphs that have shaped you into the person you are today. These are the pieces of ourselves that make us relatable; these are the pieces that inspire. Sharing your journey humanizes your brand, allowing your audience to connect with you on a deeper level. When you open up about your struggles and successes, you invite others to see themselves in your story, fostering a sense of empathy and relatability.
You also invite others to see themselves in you.
In a world where authenticity is increasingly valued, being true to yourself is not just a branding strategy—it's a competitive advantage. People want to see how you not only constructed your brand ethos, but that you live it as well.
So, don't underestimate the power of your style in shaping your narrative, but also, don't forget the power of crafting an intentional introduction; an origin story, a bio, a message, that tells us what you want to tell us.
Don't forget to share with your audience what they can expect from working with you and your services.
Embrace your brand!
Create your narrative!
Share your message! And then, let it amplify your message and mission. After all, as the saying goes, "dress how you want to be addressed." But remember, it's not just about the clothes—it's about the story you tell, both through your wardrobe and your words.
