‘’When I grow up, I want to own my own kitchen, I want to become a chef’’. These were once words that came out of a little boy's mouth. Seeing people engage over a meal was so thrilling to him. Kalus Kitchen was what he wanted to name his kitchen, the inversion of his name. This young man fought for his dreams which are now a reality. Years later, employed as a chef in a company, he still kept on pushing to have his own kitchen. A reputation of eco-friendliness and respect to the environment made it easier.

Kalus Kitchen is an independent body of Value8 Group Company. This department provides food and drinks for both internal and external members. When it comes to eco - friendliness, Kalus Kitchen understands the assignment.? They always make conscious choices to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainability. For Value 8 Group Company, they manage wasted food by having two dustbins, one for wasted food and the other one for serviettes. They have a garbage truck that picks up the garbage twice a week. They store the trash in a black trash bag well wrapped to make sure that the smell does not pollute the air. Some food waste, particularly non-cooked or non-spiced scraps, are given to animals. This practice helps minimize waste and provides an additional food source for livestock.?

Ingredients used in meals are to be taken seriously - one of Kalus goals. This is because it plays a huge role in your overall life span. A balanced diet that includes a variety of whole, minimally processed foods is essential for obtaining a wide range of nutrients and health benefits. Kalus Kitchen and his staff members prefer the usage of reusable containers when it comes to storage; they prefer using triangle containers than the round ones because they fit better in the fridge. They use note pads on their devices to plan for meals. When it comes to packaging, reusable containers are ideal because they are designed to keep food fresh for longer periods. They also offer better seals and insulation compared to disposable options, helping to reduce food waste.? They advance on the usage of reusable containers due to its large part of movement towards sustainable living which then reduces plastic waste.?

When it comes to cooking appliances, Kalus Kitchen uses a gas stove due to its efficiency. They prefer using gas rather than any electric appliances because Natural gas, which is commonly used in gas stoves, produces fewer carbon emissions compared to other fossil fuels like coal or oil. When burned, natural gas releases less carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere. They also use slow cookers that use low wattage and long cooking times to slowly cook food, which saves energy compared to using an oven or stovetop for extended periods.

It goes without saying that technology can empower businesses, and communities to adopt more sustainable practices when it comes to food, water, and serviette consumption. Kalus Kitchen's next investment plan is to get modern dishwashers which are commonly designed to be more water-efficient than hand washing.
