The NCR Voyix Way

Before we go into my journey, I want to express my biggest gratitude to NCR and my new home, NCR Voyix! Working at NCR Voyix is not an opportunity; it feels like a privilege. Knowing that all of us strive to go above and beyond, and when you work at a home such as NCR Voyix that makes sure you have the right environment to go above and beyond and to grow into an even better version of yourself, following the values NCR and NCR Voyix foster has left a great impact on me.

Where there is a continuation, there is also a beginning.

Welcome to NCR Ivan:

Joining NCR was a big career change for me. What surprised me was that I did not enter just any company; I entered a home. Every single day is a joy. I loved the work I did within FSC Canada and the impact I had from closely working with our field teams to provide the best service our clients expect and deserve!

I will forever keep the memory of having my first interview at NCR with Srdjan Nikolic, feeling his energy, and immediately looking up to him as a mentor. I still remember the words Srdjan told me (those I will keep to myself); they moved me and made me take the opportunity I received as a Service Coordinator Representative to such an extent that I feel that even today, I left a meaningful impact with all of my work for our FSC department. To quote a sentence that will stick with me for the rest of my working career, "You have raised the bar." As an employee, having such strong feedback has made me excel even further each year at the FSC department, and beyond that, it has made me want to bring my role to new heights. Srdjan has been a force of pure selfless energy that he has poured not just into me but into every single team member at FSC Canada. I knew such a great leader would not stay with us forever; I had to accept that growth is part of each and every one of us. Srdjan has kept in touch and always cared for all of the people he worked with. I want to say that I view Srdjan not as an ex-boss but as a friend for life! His continued care and energy have kept me in check and helped me set clear goals for myself and my career within my home at NCR Voyix!

Coming to NCR with a background in mechatronics (did you know I am a mechatronics technician?) made me feel excited. The ability to learn and expand my knowledge, all with a clear goal of delivering excellence for our clients.

Continued learning, growth, and never feeling satisfied made me look into another career change. Not wanting to leave my home, I carefully made a decision about what roles I wanted to apply for.

There was a deep love within me for the field teams, territory managers, and customer engineers. The events of COVID and our heroes on the field have made me want to work closer with them. I attempted to become a field supervisor. I was not ready, and the experience of not landing the job only showed me the number of things I have yet to grasp. I decided to keep working towards my personal goal of expanding my technical knowledge of NCR hardware. Nicholas Baetz, Allan Chandler, Ken Hartman, Saki Petrouneas, Arron Lutchman, Sajeevan Thiruchelvam, Bohdan Tyrawski, Francois Peltier, Don Pantaleo, and Abbas Khilat, my heart goes out to you. The amount of knowledge, courses, and overall things you have passed down to me has been invaluable! Feel free to call me when you visit the Belgrade NCR Campus so I may treat you to some drinks.

Thanks to everyone and the support that all of us give to each other at NCR, I was able to set new, clear goals for myself.

Eyeing the TC (Technical Consultant) role within NCR and NCR Voyix has been something that has kept me occupied, knowing that there is no stopping me from learning and developing my skills. When the opportunity opened, I was there polishing my internal CV, making sure I could showcase a glimpse of my growth within NCR over the years. Pressing submit and committing to a decision felt like opening a new chapter.

Oh, was I wrong? I thought it was great at NCR. Well, what if I tell you it's ten times better at NCR Voyix?

We all have that stress going to an interview, but here I was happy and excited, and I could not even wait for the moment. Waking up on the faithful day, I decided to have a long walk, find a spot on the promenade looking over the Danube River, and have a cup of coffee. That was the best decision I could make; it cleared my mind and set me in the right mindset. I am going to be myself. Entering the interview call and having two incredible individuals tell me about themselves made me feel small compared to them! I was ready, though; I knew that I had things to showcase. One comment that will stick with me is "Wow, now that is an introduction.".

Adam Tefft - is not only my manager; he is my role model. Let me tell you something: what I knew about management, what I learned, and what I believed was the best way to do it. Well, yes, Adam set the bar so high for me that even now I am still amazed at the way he works with each and every one of us in our team. When was the last time you spent more than an hour on a call with your boss? Well, how about two, three, or what about four hours? Yeah, that's what I am on about. Adam is not just our manager, boss, and leader; he is also our anchor. There is no fear or stress; he made sure of it. The atmosphere and excellence he brings out of each of us is on the next level, and trust me, getting 110% out of anyone without feeling some sort of stress is not as easy as it sounds. No matter how booked his schedule is, he always has time for us. Ever felt like someone had your back? I feel like Adam has my back, even if I am outside work. Can I give some more praise and say the charisma and energy Adam has are something to look up to! How can I, as someone working under him, not wanting to bring my A-game every day?

Thanks to Adam and my teammates, I have set new, clear goals, and let me tell you, I plan to go aggressive on them. If you know, you know!

Some say you have to conclude an article. What is an article without a conclusion? Well,? what is there to conclude? Expect to say that I look forward to being a better version of myself and bringing my A++ game to my work each day, making sure we excel and bring the best for our clients!
