WRI India recently published the workshop proceedings summarizing the reflections of stakeholders from a workshop hosted in October 2023 in partnership with Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA). The workshop was conducted to explore collaborative maintenance models for the ecological restoration of underused public open spaces in Mumbai’s low-income communities. Key challenges such as lack of collaborative action, land governance issues, and the absence of integrated funding mechanisms of NbS were identified by stakeholders. The takeaways from the workshop included the importance of participatory approaches, stakeholder integration throughout the project lifecycle, the design of ecologically suitable and easy to maintain solutions and others.??
