Navy Superior Civilian Service Award

I retired from active Navy duty in 2014. Yet, last year I was back in the Pentagon and other Navy facilities numerous times over a five month period. It was a "back to the future" kind of experience and I was thrilled to be part of it. I was honored to have Special Government Employee status last year as we studied on-going military law community issues. I was part of a ten-person executive review panel of military law experts. We "identified military and civilian best practices for manning, training, and resourcing that will optimize the structure, culture and overall effectiveness of the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps and the Marine Corps Staff Judge Advocate community" (quote taken from the award citation). Above photo is of RADM James Bynum, USN, presenting the award on behalf of the CNO, last week at the Pentagon.
