Navy Entertainment Hosts Four Incredible Shows Featuring Jonathan Burns and Free Daps

WASHINGTON – Navy Entertainment delighted audiences with four captivating events showcasing comedian Jonathan Burns and talented beatboxers and freestyle rappers Free Daps. These entertainment shows, over the week of June 8-12, 2023, brought joy to thousands on the forward-deployed USS Ronald Reagan and deployed USS Nimitz, and Okinawa and Sasebo communities.?
The show kicked off with Jonathan Burns captivating the crowd through interactive comedy, showcasing contortions and hilarious magical comedy. Free Daps engaged the audience with their quick-witted, free-style rap battles created on-site through audience participation. Laughter filled the air as they delivered a seamless stream of punchlines.
“When Free Daps came on stage, they managed to incorporate everyone in my group into their verses. No one was spared, it was hilarious,” said Air Traffic Controller 3rd Class Ian McCallister. “This is something I will personally remember for the rest of my career.”

For years Free Daps has been touring and creating personalized and spontaneous shows that blend hip-hop and comedy. Their talent and resume as rappers and improvisers have garnered a dedicated following throughout North America.
Burns, a multi-talented performer, combines the art of magic and comedy in his shows. His incredible skills have been showcased on platforms like America's Got Talent, The Late Late Show, and Penn & Teller Fool Us.
“This has been an amazing experience for me,” said Burns, who has been performing for the armed forces for the last few years. “It’s an honor to give Sailors a little break from their intense lives, to be a part of that and make people smile and have them laugh at me.”
