Navigation terminal ASA-TRACK-TAB: all valuable information in one tablet

Hey! We continue to talk about railway automation and the developments of the Automation Spirit Alliance. Last time we talked about the fact that a large amount of information is processed every second to ensure the normal operation of the railway infrastructure. This requires a user-friendly interface and a suitable output device, such as widescreen monitors.

However, not only the operator at the station, but also the driver, as well as other crew members, must operate with up-to-date technical information. It is impossible to deploy a full-fledged display system in train conditions. But we don't need it. After all, ASA engineers have created comprehensive software based on a modern tablet.

What is it?

The software package is an Android application with a user-friendly graphical interface and a full range of options that may be required by the driver and his team in the train management process:

• Warning. Receiving and displaying the speed limits. Speed control by the driver via data comparing.
• Train information. Receiving and displaying the train data.
• Reference information. Proposes the actions of the driver in emergency situations and displays reference information.
• GPS. Determination of locomotive position and boundaries of limits using GPS.
• Timetable. Train timetable display. Procedural departure time control.
• Schemes. Display of mnemonic diagrams of stations and railway line sections.

Structured presentation of information and a friendly interface make it possible to reduce staff training time and quickly implement the system on almost any train.

Alternative Solution

However, if for some reason installing a tablet in the driver's cab is impractical, Automation Spirit Alliance engineers offer an alternative option — ASA-TRACK-TAB-01. This is a set of devices without a graphic display. It consists of 2 components:

• Test and alarm panel — a module equipped with a light signaling system, mechanical buttons and a starter.
• Navigation terminal is a GPS tracker that allows you to exchange information with a satellite and be constantly in the “field of view” of operators at the station.
