Navigation search on Dynamics 365 FO

Maybe we no longer remember, but the search bar was one of the most expected tools for those who worked with Dynamics AX 2012, where the users had to navigate through the huge module options.

Luckily, now it's so much easier!

As you can see in the image, the new search bar is in the middle top of the Dynamics 365 FO interface, similar than the Microsoft 365 one, so it's familiar for Microsoft users.

But you may see the search also in the right top in some Dynamics instances. This is the legacy search bar, and you can enable it through "Client performance options":

But the legacy bar includes another interesting functionality, the breadcrumbs one, which allows us to discover the full path for any page on the system.

To finish, it's important to remember that both search bars only search for menu items, not for data, buttons and so on.
