In this week's edition, SAP’s CEO Christian Klein has undertaken a press tour as he signed on for another three years running the company, and was elevated to chairman of the board. As the company pivots to the cloud, he also sees AI as a vital future investment that will further streamline and speed up transitions, even as customers leverage SAP and AI to grow their own business. “Hopefully, you’ll be able to say our offerings such as RISE …have helped accelerate innovation cycles,” he says.
Meanwhile, AWS has a massive runway to expand, according to the Amazon CEO who formerly headed up AWS services for the company. He estimates at least 85% of IT spend is focused on premises still, and that other 15% has helped drive more than $100 billion in revenue for AWS. He sees AI as a powerful driving of cloud needs. To support that growth, Amazon has announced more than $19 billion in new and enhanced data center capabilities from Indiana to Singapore.
