Navigating Xmas time and the End of the Year

As we approach the end of the year, it's not uncommon to feel the weight of stress and exhaustion, as if the world is coming to an end.
Recently, I came across a post on LinkedIn that struck in my mind (sorry I do not remember who was posting it) – a simple slide saying, "It's called a deadline, but no one is actually dying." It resonated so much with me and with the reality that many of us are facing right now – running in an urgency mode, forgetting everything else, and arriving at the last day of work drained, sad, and tired. It happens to everyone even the best ones ;)
Allow me to share a few suggestions for the upcoming holidays:
1. Prioritize Sleep
Sleep is a key factor in creating happiness, the researches are clear. Make a conscious effort to prioritise a good night's sleep! Your well-being deserves it! You deserve it!
2. Embrace (real!) Relaxation
Please avoid overplanning your holiday break. It's easy to fill every moment with activities and evrything you did not have time to do in the busy times. But now your schedule is full again: is is not like a second job then? Leave room for spontaneity and relaxation, it is a MUST!
3. Prioritize Your Time
Time is precious. Spend it with people you really care about and engage in activities that bring you joy. Quality over quantity, always.
4. Celebrate Positivity
Take time to reflect on the positive aspects of your year. Celebrate achievements and express gratitude. Leave negativity at the door, at least for this period. I know it is so difficult especially if you are used to see negative things everywhere (and even more when you are tired!) but try at least to recognize when you start your Complaining playlist and stop it!

5. Take a walk
Whether in nature or around your neighborhood, a daily walk is a simple yet effective way to clear your mind and enhance your well-being. As Moira says, "A walk a day keeps the doctor away.";)
6. Resolutions with a plan
If you plan to set New Year's resolutions, do so with intention. Avoid vague promises and instead, create a clear plan with DATES and SPECIFIC goals. Utilize coaching tools to help structure your aspirations (there are many out there!).
Last important thing: don't wait for significant events to introduce positive changes in your life. Do not start 1st of January, it is much better the 27 of December or 3rd of January...it is YOUR DATE! It resonate more!
And remember: Start now – your first step is what truly matters.
