Effective communication is the way to achieving a better workplace. But achieving this is easier said than done. Our blog delves into the barriers to effective communication and ways to address these challenges.

Create a culture of choice

An autonomous work environment is a happy work environment. Here at Zoom, employees have the freedom to have no meetings on Wednesdays. This allows us to have more time to focus and work more efficiently. Almost 2 years into this and 84% of employees continue to practice this every week.

New mobile upgrades ??

The mobile client has also received some new updates for users to enjoy when they’re on the go.?

Push notifications can now be adjusted so that messages coming in from the mobile client are hidden. Now, you can worry less about anyone reading sensitive information from your device while on the go. This feature can easily be enabled through the settings in the web portal.

Picture-in-picture mode has also been included in the latest release. This allows users to still participate and take part in the meeting even when they minimize the app on their device.

Breakout Rooms have a new vibe ??

Screens aren’t the only thing you can share in your breakout rooms. With the newest release, hosts can now share audio to all breakout rooms in the meeting. This includes sharing your computer sound and video content side-by-side for everyone to see and hear. So now you can set the right tone for your next breakout room session.?

We have tons of other updates that you can check out in the newest update, such as:

  • Dark mode for Windows users
  • Livestreaming on Twitch
  • Video messaging on Zoom Chat
  • A more simplified joining process on Zoom Events

Make sure to check out our release notes for the full list of features that you can enjoy when you update your desktop and mobile client!

Great effort in making zoom into zoom one and as friendly user as zoom. Thsnk you.

I have cancer, and COVID-19 is incredibly dangerous for my continued recovery (I am in surveillance right now). Being able to work from home is the only way I will continue to have income. Unfortunately, my main source of income is not willing to do virtual work. I have been in ADA Accommodations with them since January, when COVID spiked and mask mandates began to fall. Because of my inability to be in the building, the first week of June is my last week. I never thought cancer would... lead to that. Zoom's values, flexibility, collaboration and focus on employee and client happiness are what brought me to the two positions I applied for: Head of DI&B and Senior Learning Strategist. I am hoping for an opportunity to prove my capabilities and join the Zoom family. ??
