EPA Designates PFOA and PFOS as Hazardous Substances Under CERCLA
On April 19, 2024, the EPA finalized its rule designating two PFAS compounds, PFOA and PFOS, as hazardous substances under CERCLA. Effective July 8, 2024, this rule could reopen previously closed CERCLA sites and impact commercial real estate transactions due to potential contamination risks.
