Navigating the volatile year ahead - our insights from #WEF2025

Our 万博宣伟 team just wrapped up a week of important and complex discussions at #WEF2025 where we convened conversations to discuss some of the major issues impacting the world in 2025 and beyond. Some of the themes and takeaways we heard the most about:

  • Guarded optimism. We heard in our conversation with Stephanie Mehta , Splunk Head of EMEA Petra Jenner and Jasper 's Timothy Young that corporate leaders globally are generally optimistic about the market outlook in 2025 but have major concerns about how to navigate, grow and deliver value to various stakeholder groups amidst volatility.

  • Human-centered AI transformation.?The ability for organizations to successfully implement AI transformations in this era of extreme market volatility will increasingly rely on the ability for leaders to center their employees and workforces as part of these transformation processes. In discussions with 维布络 , Catalyst 2030 and others on the ground, we heard about the importance of building in the necessary human guardrails to help mitigate the potential risks associated with AI, and the need to focus more investment on human training, upskilling and change management, in addition to dollars spent investing on the tech itself.

  • A confidence gap in corporate affairs, communications and public affairs.?In a new survey of global C-suite leaders we will be launching next week, we found that fewer than 20% of leaders at large multinational companies thought their communications, public affairs, and government relations teams are “well equipped” to navigate this increasingly complex external affairs environment. In conversations with PRWeek 's Steve Barrett , PRovoke Media 's Paul Holmes , Page Society and IBM , we talked about why it’s now more important than ever for corporate affairs and communications leaders to stay laser-focused on ?delivering business impact and stakeholder value.
