Whether you're a seasoned public speaker, an educator, a vocalist, or someone who finds themselves in back-to-back Zoom meetings, voice fatigue can be a silent career hindrance. Today, I'd like to delve deeper into understanding voice fatigue and share comprehensive tips to ensure your voice remains your strongest ally.

1. Recognize the Importance of Your Voice: Consider your voice as a finely-tuned vehicle. Just as a car requires consistent maintenance and the right kind of fuel to function optimally, your voice demands attention and care. Overexerting it without adequate support can lead to wear and tear, known as vocal fatigue.

2. The Art of Warming Up: Before any significant vocal activity, ensure you warm up your vocal cords. Simple exercises like gentle humming, lip trills, or even softly singing scales can set the right tone for the day.

Yes! So many take the voice for granted and many unfortunately don’t take steps to care for the voice until there is a major issue landing them in a doctor’s office. But there can be so much to prevent vocal pathologies. I love the voice and it’s complexities!
