Greetings, my dear community,
In these times of great complexity, many of us are questioning the effectiveness of our leadership models, governance structures, and decision-making processes.?
We are facing unprecedented challenges that demand new solutions, new ways of thinking and perceiving. And our old ways of doing things seem to be falling short. So it’s more important than ever to explore new approaches that can help us navigate the unknown and create a more sustainable and equitable future.
One of the key shifts that we are called to make is from reactive to creative leadership.?
Reactive leadership is a “crisis mode” reinforced by habits and outdated beliefs, while creative leadership is focused on generating new possibilities and co-creating the future. Reactive leadership leads us to reenact the same old patterns, and it often leads to short-term solutions that don't address the root causes of the problems we are facing.?
Creative leadership, on the other hand, is about envisioning new futures and working collaboratively and systemically to bring them into being.
Collaborative models of governance are another key element of the shift we need to make.?
Traditional hierarchical models of governance are based on the idea that a few people at the top know what's best for everyone else. But this approach limits us now in effectively addressing many of the problems we are facing today, such as environmental degradation, social inequality, and political polarization.?
Collaborative models of governance, on the other hand, are based on the idea that everyone has a valuable perspective to contribute and that decisions are best made through inclusive and participatory processes.?
This approach can help us create more resilient and adaptive systems that are better able to respond to the challenges of our time.
Finally, we are called to adopt an ecosystem orientation in all of our decision-making processes.?
An ecosystem orientation means recognizing that we are part of a larger system that includes other people, other species, and the natural environment. It means understanding that our actions have ripple effects that can impact the entire system, and that we need to make decisions that take into account the well-being of the whole.?
An ecosystem orientation can help us create more sustainable and regenerative systems that are better able to support life in all its forms.

So, how can we start making these shifts in our own lives and work??
When everything around us is uncertain, I like to go back to what is clear: what I see, I sense and I feel, trusting the wisdom of our body and the connection to the ground. Our connection to the ground can give us a sense of stability and rootedness in the midst of uncertainty. From there, from a place of being, we can move forward in new directions and explore new possibilities. By attending to our sensations and trusting their guidance, we become more embodied and present in the moment - a foundation for creative leadership, collaboration and connection to our eco-system.
Another practice is to cultivate curiosity and openness. Instead of reacting to new ideas or perspectives with defensiveness or skepticism, we can approach them with a sense of curiosity and a willingness to learn. We can expand our understanding and generate new possibilities that we may not have considered before. We open the mind.
Finally, we can cultivate a sense of interconnectedness and interdependence, an openness of the heart. By recognizing that we are all part of a larger system, we develop a sense of responsibility and care for the well-being of the whole. This can help us make decisions that are aligned with our values and that contribute to the greater good.
We are living in a time of great transition and uncertainty, but also of great possibility. By shifting from reactive to creative leadership, adopting collaborative models of governance, and cultivating an ecosystem orientation, we can create a more sustainable and equitable future for ourselves and for generations to come. So let's trust the wisdom of our body, cultivate curiosity and openness, and embrace our interconnectedness as we navigate the unknown together.
If you’re willing to navigate the unknown, get in touch and let's explore together the conditions in which creativity, openness and connectedness can naturally emerge.
With gratitude,?
