Navigating uncertainty, change and finding opportunities | Issue #13 | The M&A Insider
Dear readers,
A good proportion of agencies have come back from a challenging 2023 and predict growth in 2024, but uncertainty prevails and no one is banking on a good year at this stage.
The performance of the economy, wars and elections on both sides of the pond, are making investors and buyers nervous, or at best cautious.?
But most are in search of growth and scale to minimise the impact of inevitable bumps in the road, shore up current client relationships,? and build for the future.
On the lower end of the market, we’re seeing a surge in interest to consolidate, as there is a combination of small agencies struggling and mid-sized agencies looking to scale faster.
For the top end of the market, the big networks seem to be going through neverending internal reorganisation, and/or focusing on transformational deals.
The emerging groups and private equity investors are active, and provide exciting opportunities for the scaling, independent digital agencies.
Finally, can anyone keep up with AI developments? And what happens next??
My guess is that the BigTech firms win over, and will either acquire, copy and/or smother (by offering free services) the AI startup community in the space.?
Let's see which start ups can overcome the resources and might of BigTech.
