Navigating Uncertain Times in the Furniture Industry
Last Saturday, one of our sales sell one of our container stocks—finally a bit of good news! I did some research on the buyer, and they seem promising with 15 stores. I’m hopeful that once they receive the shipment, they’ll quickly move the rest of our inventory as well.
But despite this small win, the challenges are far from over. Shipping costs remain sky-high, and as a company doing DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), we’re struggling to stay afloat. The pressures are relentless, and it’s been incredibly difficult to see a clear path forward.
It might sound strange, but I’ve even turned to more unconventional means—yes, I consulted a fortune teller. According to them, things should start to improve after the Aug. of the lunar calendar. It’s a bit of a leap, but right now, any glimmer of hope is welcome.
I’ve been deeply confused and uncertain about the future lately. If a career change is on the horizon, this year might be the last chance. The thought of leaving the furniture industry is heavy, and I’m torn between holding on and letting go.
I can’t help but wonder—where is the furniture industry headed? The future feels so uncertain, and it’s hard to know what the right move is. For now, I’ll keep pushing forward, but the crossroads are closer than ever.
