2024 was hailed as ‘the year of AI’ with its impact on jobs, people, perceptions, and even critical political elections happening in 62 countries around the world. We are in the midst of a major paradigm shift – each of us plays a role in co-creating a better future.
It won’t be easy – we need to be mindful - carefully reviewing and discerning, i.e. checking to ensure we understand the true meaning and validity of what we read, receive, and request from people or technology. We must move out of the ‘comfort zone’ and look beyond the ‘feeds’ that support our beliefs to consider facts, statements, and choices from diverse perspectives. Most importantly we must understand the context, motivations, and potential implications of our actions, decisions, and communications.
Finally, we must be creative – thinking differently, and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds to gain different perspectives.

The role of humans in creating the future is paramount. We must overcome biases or risk reproducing them in the tech that will define our future. In navigating technological advancement, the decisions about what technology to use, how to use it, and what questions to pose to technology and people are significant. We must exercise discernment and determine what information to review and read, recognizing that our choices shape tomorrow.?
