We delved into the world of coping mechanisms - strategies used to manage stressful or challenging situations - and their crucial role in maintaining mental health and overall well-being amidst change.
Coping mechanisms can be individual, such as self-talk and distraction, or interpersonal, like seeking help or social support. Developing effective coping mechanisms begins with self-awareness and self-reflection. However, in today's digital age, technology and social media can pose challenges to these coping mechanisms by distracting us and potentially increasing stress levels. That's why the ability to spend time alone with ourselves, a concept we refer to as 'holding,' is essential for developing effective coping mechanisms.
