The Critical Importance of Vetting Your Sources
Adhering to one’s authentic self is an overriding principle in life but also requires a thorough examination of the evidence.
College students need to express their true selves, even if it requires deviating from imposed societal norms or peer pressured expectations.
Professors, who are entrusted with the role of educators, occasionally harbor biases that influence their teaching approach. These biases can originate from their personal beliefs, the institutional policies of their respective institutions, or the broader prevailing societal context.
Students must critically examine these biases and refrain from blindly following the opinions of others. They must exercise their independent thinking and make decisions based on their own convictions.
Each of us bears a responsibility to live our lives following our own beliefs and values, rather than conforming to the expectations of others.
All of us need to courageously embrace our core beliefs, even in the face of adversity.
