Navigating in the Pursuit of Being Selflessness
To be completely selfless, or to be selfnull, is impossible.
While the theory of being 100% selfless is one many pursue, having no selfish motives behind your actions, either consciously or subconsciously, is not one that we possess. However, in the pursuit of being selfless, which simply means to be less selfish, we can make daily strides.
We have a daily choice, to focus on selfish reasons which may include fame, money, prestige or reputation. Yet, we can also live our lives in pursuit of happiness, growth or justice for another individual or group of people. We can choose to focus on solving the problems we encounter in the world and dedicate ourselves to advancing certain ideals.

Here's two ways we can strive towards living a more selfless life:
1: Make a concerted, concentrated effort to think about how your actions affect others to the point that’s just short of resentment.
The key here is not to go to the extreme of being selfless which causes you to resent others. That's counterproductive and completely defeats the altruistic pursuit. However, examining your actions both consciously and subconsciously with the affect they have on others is one in which we collectively don't do often enough.
2: Do at least one thing, each and every day, that’s as selfless as possible and don’t ask for a return of the favor
So long as the purpose of the act is not for self promotion, then you will live a more altruistic life on a daily basis. The type of action you perform is irrelevant; the key is simply taking action.
