Navigating the Project Waters: The Art of Managing a CARDDIAC (RAID) Log

As a project manager, we're the captains of our project ships, navigating through the vast sea of uncertainties towards the shores of success. And in this journey, one of our trusted tools is the CARDDIAC Log which is popularly called RAID Log. No, we're not talking about the heart condition; we're talking about Constraints, Actions, Risks, Dependencies, Decisions, Issues Assumptions and Change Control(CARDDIAC). I could remember the first time i heard of CARDDIAC Log from Philip Buckley when i worked for him on a programme. I was first confused until he explained himself. :)

We're often the captains of our projects, sailing through unpredictable waters. The key to a smooth voyage? The CARDDIAC Log.

?? R for Risks: Just as a ship's captain monitors the weather, we identify project risks to navigate safely.

?? I for Issues: Storms may arise, but with a log, we chart a course through them.

? A for Assumptions: Like knowing the winds, we keep assumptions in check to ensure a smooth journey.

??? D for Dependencies: Navigating currents is like managing project dependencies—essential for success.

?? D for Decisions: A compass guiding us toward the right choices.

??? A for Actions: Setting sails with purpose, knowing each action moves us closer to our goal.

?? C for Change Control: Like adjusting sails to the wind, change control keeps us on course.

?? C for Constraints: Anchors that ground us, constraints are managed to keep our project afloat.

In project management, mastering the CARDDIAC Log is our secret to successful navigation, ensuring we reach our intended destination.
