Navigating New Year Resolutions | Staying on Track and How to Recommit to Your Goals

As the New Year unfolds, many of us embark on the tradition of setting resolutions – promises to ourselves for personal growth, development, and positive change. Now that we're a few months into the year, it's a good time to reflect on those New Year resolutions and assess how well we've put them into action | New Year or NY (not New York).


NY Resolutions|Did You Put It to Work?

At the beginning of the year, we enthusiastically commit to various resolutions, be it adopting a healthier lifestyle, pursuing a new hobby, or improving personal relationships. However, as the months progress, the initial fervor may begin to wane. It's crucial to ask ourselves: Have we truly put our resolutions to work?

Taking stock of our progress is an essential step. Celebrate the small victories and acknowledge the efforts made so far. If you've diligently followed through with your resolutions, pat yourself on the back. If not, don't be too hard on yourself; it's never too late to get back on track.


How Are You Following Your New Goals?

One key aspect of successful resolution implementation is tracking your progress. Regularly assess where you stand about your goals. For example, I use Strava to track my progress in road cycling. I do have weekly, monthly, and yearly goals already preset. With that app, I'm able to understand in detail how many miles|km I'm behind or ahead.
